I've never used Blender before so dont think i can advise you on anything there. Is it textures you are looking for or settings for the material editor? if you post your work in progress here im sure you will get all the help you need  |

I'm sorry that I missed the Lego themed competition. I would have loved to enter.
About Blender - I will make sure to post a work in progress. Hopefully we can work out a realistic render. It's mainly materials - just getting something that isn't obviously CG.
Also - my browser froze and it looks like my post above was posted twice. Maybe a moderator could delete that.
