Reflections behind glass surface

Hi,
I'm trying to render my Shelby in Vray. I've got a problem with rendering headlights. If I hide glass which is right in front of relfector everything is fine and enviroment (HDRI) reflects in reflector body, but when I unhide glass, reflector seems as if it was made of standard material (no reflections). I tried caustics but it only enlightens reflector..
BTW There was a tutorial with reflectioning reflections in mirror but I can't find it now...
Thx in advance..
and the pictures
without glass

and with glass

hmm yeah that's pretty strange, it seems the glass is blocking the reflections from the environment. What happens if you set the glass object property 'visible to reflection' off? That might help, is the glass actually thick or is it just a flat plane shape?

Partially it works but still no desired effect.
with glass visible on

with glass visible off

and without glass

It's really pretty good now.I don't know where grey areas come from now.
BTW If I am turning off that visible to refl. then glass is not attracting them, right?
Glass is thick. It was a plane detached from a sphere but I applied shell modifier and edited to poly again.

well it basically means that it doesn't affect reflections, ie. if you have a sphere model and a mirror, you turn of visible to reflection and it won't be visible in the reflective mirror anymore.
I'm not sure why it's still looking a bit strange, what happens if you also set 'cast shadows' to off? maybe it changes something.. btw, what renderer are you using, that might affect the outcome too??

I am using Vray. I tried turning "cast shadows" and it only makes brighter the inside of reflector. I have put camera into reflector and everything reflects fine.

I saw a tutorial about reflecting reflections in mirror :] but I can't find it now. Still trying by the way.

Well, glass does change reflections and shine in real life, maybe not that much, but it will take it down a little. about how think is the glass exactly?

i don't think the thickness is a problem, you could try rendering at different sizes though, maybe something changes..
So the reflections actually looks fine when you render from inside the headlight? that's even stranger, what happens if you try some standard preset materials on it instead of the ones youre using now?
