Uv mapping, flatten mapping not working properly?

hey guys,
currently I´m in uv mapping a lot of models and encountered a problem with flatten mapping. I think all parts should be flattened like if I used planar mapping. But the ends of my cylinders are not completely round they look like scaled down in one direction. Is there any way to fix this? I use default values and all the boxes are unchecked.

Regards,
Stephael

can you post a screenshot of what you mean?

I don't think Planar mapping works well with rounded objects, if that's what you mean

I tried to reproduce this error but I couldn´t get it again that easy
When it occurs again I´ll take pictures to show you what I´m talking about. Last thing i recognized is that it is not working properly in only one axis this one changes but it´s always only one.
