hmm not sure, probably export it from cad in a format max can import, but this model could be made in max very easily, with splines..

How did you extrude it? If you create the spline and convert to editable poly. Then select the top poly and extrude that it will create all the polys to make it solid.

i know that. but i forget to say that, i have used 'arc' and 'line'. So, i have to finish the line then start the 'arc' from the end point of the line by snap and finish the arc and then start the line again. With the help of snap system i have made the shape.

The system u told is applicable if i make a shape with only line ( when i close the line a massage box came "Close spline?" ) But i am making the shape with different spline object types. MAY BE THERE IS A SYSTEM TO MAKE THAT INDIVIDUAL SPLINE A GROUP. AFTER THAT YOUR SYSTEM MAY BE WORKABLE. WHAT IS THE SYSTEM TO MAKE THEM JOIN?

To make them one object convert 1 to editable spline and click attach in the modify roll out. Select the other so that they are connected. Go into vertex mode and select the vertexes that are on top of one another and weld them together. Then you can do the steps of the previous post. Oh and when making a line if you click-drag to create a vertex it arcs. Then in vertex mode when the vertex is selected there are handles to change the curve amount and direction.

Edit: Sorry don't think you have to convert to editable spline first, on mine it already is. Also deleted my first sentence sounded kinda mean which I didn't intend for.

Hmmm sorry didn't realize it didn't keep that poly go into border mode (pretty sure hot key is 3) and select that border then click the cap button, should work. Oh and lines are auto set to Editable spline Arcs aren't.

1. What do you mean by trim?
2. When you click the create spline and then line go to the Keyboard Entry roll out and set everything to 0. Click add point. Then set one of the three axis to 1 foot (see pic) then click add point again. Then click finish. Voila! You have a line 1 foot in dimensions on one axis then you can move it. If you can't enter feet go to Customize > Units setup and change it to US Standard then feet. In the pic it is set to Feet with Fractional inches so for example if you type 1.5 you get 1 foot 6 inches. Oh and thats not 1 foot wide thats the coords for the new vertex so you can find the length with the distance formula or just make it on one axis and rotate it.
