Hdr effects without Photoshop

Hey, I tried to create Hdr effects without any 2d painting prog for nearly two months, but i haven't found it.
I tried al lot of ways to let the mesh "overblur" because of the light in the Background, but it never matched my Imagines i had.
Maybe there is no way, but i don't think so. The prog is expensive enough to have it included ^^.
I use 3dsmax 8 and vray 1.5.

I'm not sure what you're asking exactly, what's your problem, and what do you want to achieve?

I want that my lightsource in the background overpaint for example a mesh of a window, or the leafes of a tree.
But maybe it's better when i upload a picture, but my hdd crashed and i had to buy a new one, so my scenes are gone . I create a new scene.
Just gimme some time.

You mean bloom? (Good site btw)

There's an example on how to make it in both photoshop and 3ds max. :]
