A simple red cup! This is my best finished work till now xD . I spent more time texturing and lighting than modeling :s. I'm not sure if that was the best texture. I created a cylinder, than started beveling it. I Also created a hole for the water! Anyway, here it is: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by thegoodlol; 28th March 2008 at 09:41 AM.

Well I did the hole for the cup :x Of course nobody will drink from that, but makes it more realistic. However I had a problem when rendering the cup. When I was trying to show the "hole" of the cup, it looked like the cup was cut or something, but that only appeared after rendering :S. It really makes me mad. Well, I can't explain well here. I'll post a screenshot: ![]() Well, about the lighting, I'm not sure how to use the lights, I just place them to get some brightness :x. Normally I use Omnis, not sure wich one is better. About the texture, I was thinking about getting a glass-type texture, but I'm not sure how to do that too! Ok I just added a better environment (background): ![]() Lights: ![]() P.S: On the first post, I said: "I created a cylinder, than started bending it.", but I meant beveling. Using Bevel. My mistake >_> Last edited by thegoodlol; 28th March 2008 at 01:25 PM.

That problem with the hole is easy to sort out mate. First if you want to be able to see the inside of the cup while your working in the Max viewports Right click on the viewport name ('Persepective' in the top left corner of the viewport) and click 'Configure' then under rendering options check the 'Force 2-sided' box. If you want to be able to see it when rendering just go to 'Rendering' on the top bar (Along from File, Edit, Tools etc) and click 'Renderer' in the dropdown list (Shortcut key for this is F10). Then under the 'Options' list check the 'Force 2-Sided' box again. Now you should be able to see it when rendering. Hope that helps ![]()

Yeah looks good mate, you should check out Jelmers tutorial on creating a pot. The tutorial takes you through modeling, texturing, lighting and rendering the scene. You could take the texturing part of the tutorial and apply it to this model which would make it seem more real. Here is the link to the tutorial if your interested Pottery: model, uv, texture, render
