futuristic worker hi guys, been working on a new character model, i got the concept from the internet, cant remember the name of the artist, the gredit for the main character concept goes to him, though i did decide to add the helmet and the gables to get the final look i was after, still in the wip stage so dont hold your c&c ![]() started doing some basic poly pating at this stage but left to be finished after the helmet was done as you can see the head is penetrating through the helmet, thats something ill fix in the next post

COOL! Love the look of this. I reckon with that helmet he should have flying goggles! "Bandits at four o'clock Ginger!........but it's only half past 2 sir!".....and all that....great stuff. I assume this is done in 'Z Brush' or 'Mudbox' or something? It really doesn't matter, looks like your skills in this department would shine whatever you use....very impressive. Do you have a plan for this model or.....? This kind of modeling is not something I've ever even contemplated having a go at, I'm just not a 'character' sort of modeller.....my 'freehand' skills are next to jack when it comes to stuff like this. He reminds me of Bruce Spence who played the Gyro captain in the Mad Max movies........ ![]() ....great character and comedic value. Anyway, nice one walwop, excellent stuff. Regards.

Well they are both pretty good, each with thier own merits...... The first one would obviously be easier to model than the second and would look great on the forehead of your character rather than over the eyes. The second one could be used if you really don't want to model the eyes, but will of course be a little more complex to model. You could also amalgamate the two and have the 'rims' of the second one with the lenses of the first......and have them hinged at the top so they flip upward......then you could have them in the 'down' position until you get round to modeling the eyes and then later on in the 'up' position when your done......I dunno really.......those are just my thoughts. it will still look totally cool whatever you decide. Regards.

Nice work Walwop your ZBrush work is really good! Is it possible to see the concept image of the character? That way we can give you c&c on the whole model ![]() I would go for the second goggles, they look like they would fit the character better with a more 'industrial' feel to them. Did you create it all in ZBrush or did you create the base mesh in Max?

hi the base mesh was created in maya/max heres the concept, i think i have got the overall shape prety much there but there are still alot of things that can improved, waiting for c&c ![]() |
