| hehe, that's pretty funny! Are you sure about the brows and facial hair? maybe make it different from the clothing, or is that the look you're going for? The whole body looks good, feet are shaped a bit strange that's all. The head could use some work though, it's hardly round at all, especially in the first render it seems like you made the front shape of the head, then extruded backwards once and left it like that, instead of making it a bit round at least. The mouth is probably the only part which looks quite bad to me, I can't see if the mesh is very clean, but the entire shape is a bit strange, something is definitely wrong with the lips, even for a cartoon character. I would try to simplify the shape a bit there, and make a more smooth transition into the rest of the face. When you're done, don't forget to add some textures to the eye, it will add a lot of life to it, also try adding a material with a high glossiness for the specularity you usually see in eyes. |

| thanks for the advice Jelmer, made some changes. Probably there are more to make. Yer, I do like the tartan on the hair and eyebrows, he's suppose to be clownish, I wanted to come up with some stylised and individual hence the head is an oddshape. Bodywise I like the syle, but doing a character head defines 90% unless its something about the characters body that gives it it's personality? right going to lay down, or watch tv then fall asleep, lol, ben at it since morning. ![]() |

![]() after a good nights sleep and stepping back from the project, I gave your suggestion some more thought and relised may be it didin't work on rouding the top of the head but is forhead should come a bit forward and be slightly more rounded. Also I tried out the mesh smoothing modifiers, turbo smooth was too intense made the character lookas though he had no teeth, mesh smooth om the poly modifier didn't help, so mesh smooth modifier did. lol I suppose until I have been down this road of trying to create a character under pressure to bring out the best in me, I'm going to have to keep on practicing and listening and applying. thanks for your patience guys and thanks for the tip Jelmer, helpful as always. lol |

| I gotta say, I prefer him without the tartan hair. I was struggling to believe that. I know its cg and you can make whatever you can imagine but for me good fantasy is well rooted in reality. That's what makes it believable. I'd say this is much more believable. This looks like a stylised recreation of a real clown whereas things like tartan hair which don't exist made it look like a completely imaginary character. Liking it. Keep going. ![]() |
