Sionnach Celynnen (Nudity!!)

Hi all. I am new here. Just found the place.
Thought I would post what I am currently working on. It is a big ongoing project that will probably take years to complete.

This head is for one of the main characters from my story and today I sepnt TIME working on the hair. It is the best style I have ever managed to get out of max so I am pretty pleased with it, but I will probably tweak it a little further still. There are a couple of bumps I would like to try and smooth out but I find that easier said than done.
C&C very welcome.

Nice to be here

Quick Question BTW - How do I get my image to show up in the forum topic list. When I look I just get a missing image icon?

It needs to be an attachment And good start, i like the hair. Thr only problems on the person that I can see are the lips are a bit too big and the eyes arent really defined, just like a hole. But Great start!

Excellent. Thanks for the reply.
As for the lips and eyes. I agree. The nostrils too at the moment i think. All those bits that are holes and go inside and are likely to cause me grief when it comes time to unwrap it with regards to overlapping faces I like to leave nearer the end although I have just gone back and redone proper ears instead of the flat ones that she has in the pic above. The reason I like to leave them nearer the end is that I find I have a better understanding of which bits to detatch and uvmap separately if it was more recent that I modelled it. It if was something I did more than about a week ago then it is like trying to unwrap someone elses mesh which I find much harder. Short Term Memory Loss I guess. I blame my childhood lol!!
Modelling some body today. I will post pics later.
Are there any rules about nudity by the way? She doesn't have any clothes yet.

I would imagin what detail and the bodies epression determines license of nudity but best to play it safe and just show a model in pose or the standard T pose.

Nice work by the way

It would definately just be in the T pose for now and before she is rigged she would get clothes, its just some forums like you to warn users that there is naked body parts on display by putting NUDE!! in the thread title or something like that so noone gets unnecessarily offended. Don't worry. I'm not making porn or anything. Different kind of fantasy

Anyway. I have to go out now so here is what I have so far. Like I said, changed the ears which you can't really see here, and I made a start on her body.
As always C&C very welcome.

A bit more. Moving pretty fast here. Hoping to get the body done today and then I can start on clothing tomorrow. Or maybe I will unwrap the body and give it some texturing before I do the clothes. Not sure yet. Anyway, here is the body so far.

cool, just need to sort out the anatomy a little the breast bone at the top that makes up the clavicel is more of a curve than a V shape and dip. But very nice all the same its lovely work, keep going.

Can't wait to see more

looks pretty accurate i think, the only thing i don't really like is the face, probably because the cheeks are so wide.

Geldslaw - Thanks for the input but I think I am fairly happy with that at the moment. I think when the two halves are welded together the V will smooth into more of a u shape. I will take another look then.

Jelmer - I think you might be right. She might look a little better if the whole bit from the cheekbones down to the chin was a little narrower. I will do a bit more work on this when I go back and do the teeth and sort the holes out.(mouth, nose and eyes)

Thanks for helping.

Here is how far I am. Unfortunately I didn't get as far as I would have liked yesterday due to too much beer while watching the rugby but how was I to know that England would beat France.

Included a closer shot of her ears too. I always find them tricky. I know they are not perfect but they are the best ears I have ever made so I am happy with them for now.

She is no longer legless.

Next I will go back and make teeth, tongue and work a little on the mouth, nostrils and eyes and see what gives with making the cheeks narrower. The more I look at her the more I think I got carried away with the high cheekbones.
As always C&C most welcome.

Looking again, she might have a little too much junk in the trunk too. lol
