Motion graphics is any multimedia interests students'/ professionals' dream it includes everything design, film making, writing, animation, information architecture and sound design, it's multimedia heaven. No one can say that with the television, film and internet, designing visual content is an art and is no longer mechanical. Ever watched a movie trailer that made you want to go and watch a movie, ever saw an advert that made you want to go out and buy a product, and what about TV/Cable/Satellite Channel Indents , ever seen a promo for one of those channels, especially MTV and thought, 'yer got to check that out'?
I'm fully aware that most of us regard that 3D Modeling applications get used in the film and games industry for creating content and that basic skills such as modeling, texturing, lighting and rendering, including animation are extremely important. But we all also know how tough the market is in terms of finding a job with just the skills you have picked up here and there, from this and that tutorial.
Here's an interview with Creative Director Martin Lambie-Nairn as far bas as 1987 using CGI as new technology to change the face of television
examples of both disciplines can be seen here
Some of you may have seen the work of Graphic Designer Kyle Cooper who created the opening title sequence for the highly acclaimed film 'SEVEN" this os Kyle Coopers' demo reel
Motion Graphic Design is such a mish mash of media disciplines that you could do anything and not be wrong, just need to think of your target audience, it's like going out and getting totally wasted and the coming home with a head full of mad ideas that you have to get down an done immediately. then in the morning when you reviewed your nights work you ask yourself did you throw up in your pc hahahahahahahaha
