Well there are obviously many ways to achieve our desiered effect. Jelmer should weight all the variables and pick the solution that best suits his resources. I'll lay out a couple possibilities to start our brain storming. 1) Build it from scratch - In my opinion this would be the best option. EGC doesn't have a fully functioning website, just a kick ass message board. By creating a profileing system from scratch we can design a functional website along the way. This method is obviously the most labor intensive but I think has the highest payoff. 2) Get a template - Jelmer look into PHP-Nuke. It's a fully customizable php website in a box. Just unpack it and configure a few things and everythings done... Much like this message board, the php-nuke development team did a great job of covering everything you could ever need. This option would also take much less time and labor (could probably finish the whole site in 5 hours) And I'm 99% positive they have a profileing section included. Well... When I started replying I had 3 suggestions in mind... but now I forgot the third... I'll post it when I think of it again. Thoughts? Erik

In terms of how hard it would be? The planning would be the hardest. We'd have to figure out A. What we need. B. How we'll do it (html, css, java, sql, php) and C. the exact content that's being built. Once that's done, we know the code. It'll just be a matter of time to develop it. I think we should make it from scratch. Make it unique.

Maybe we could also get a new forum skin, because the one at the moment is a bit stereotypical vbulletin, with all the hard edges and stuff.. I dunno if anyone has any vbulletin skinning experience, so theres always sone free ones that we could modify a bit. Theres a few free ones here, here and here And if the portfolio worked that would be really coll, and would probably make loads more people come to the site ![]()

this article is about adding custom pages to vbulletin, might be useful, if i find anything which adds a custom page for each user i'll let you guys know. http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showt...+for+each+user

I've probably found a nice base to start out with, it's a mod which allows you to have a custom page for every user, if we can probably customize it into an portfolio system. I'm sure it will save us a lot of work, anyway, take a look at the thing here.

I've attached the mod in a .zip file here, it's mainly php and mysql, if you're interested take a look at the code and see if it's any good. update: I've just installed the mod and it seems to work fine, now it's time to start customizing it view my portfolio test page or just enter this link: http://enjoycg.com/forums/jelmer
