first of all, thanks for participating everybody, all of the entries have turned out well so we're satisfied for this first challenge, of course we need to decide on the winner!

Just to make sure nobody cheats with voting everybody should post their top3 here, you can follow my example to see how it works in the next post.
Only the final renders are shown, if you want to see the wire renders or progress made throughout the competition check out the individual threads.

wow, that was tough, so many great looking entries! mr-e's render was certainly the most original and complete entry, well done on the texturing as well. I picked ivan as number one because his entry is realistic, clean and well rendered, i like the design as well. Although overall i think mr-e's render is more impressive the subject of this competition was a chair so that's what i focused on when judging. Zas is on number 3 because i like the elegance and simplicty of the design, would love to have that chair, it's also well rendered in a nice studio environment.

All the other entries were pretty good as well but those 3 stood out for me, what do you guys think?

1. Ivan_xXx because i love the disign cool modelling and nice render
2. Mr-e Because of the originality of the design, love the little octopus thing! Nice modelling!
3. Te_ because of a nice model lovely leather material and cool render!

This was really hard to decide >_<

1. Ivan_xXx: Awesome concept and perfectly executed (and it's the shiniest ;o... j/k)
2. Mr-E: Originality wins here, awesome modeling
3. Zas: I love the clean modern look, well done!

omg sooo hard, well here goes

1) veyron
2) TE_
3) Zas

i liked veyron's model and some shaders used in it. i have seen a lot of those chairs and the model is pretty much accurate. TE_'s attention to detail is pretty immaculate and Zas did good as well in the simplicity of the design. he would be my number 2 if the chair was a bit more practical

That's unfortunate, Motammad, but just know that I think you made a very nice design!

Alright then, here are the votes of the Mr-e-jury...

1. Zas because it just looks so comfortable! Very stylised, great!
2. Ivan_xXx because he took a great concept and made it even better!
3. Te_ because it looks very classy! Good modelling, texturing & lighting overall!

Very well done to everybody else as well! I'm sure we've all learned a lot during this fun competition, and that's a victory all by itself!

Ivan - Great modeling
Veyron - For some reason this render looks especially nice. It doesn't really look like a comfortable chair to sit in, but the materials are really nice.
Mr-e - The most original idea, but I wonder whether the idea was to build an environment or just a chair? ;] Naturally it looks better with a good environment, but then we all could go rendering our chairs in a living room and making it look like an arch visualisation. But nevertheless, the creature looks funny, third place.
