Evermotion competition guidelines and rules

Welcome to our first sponsored competition, join and you have a chance of winning more then $400 USD (300 €) worth of prizes provided by Evermotion!

Theme
The theme of this competition is Interior Architectural vizualization. Which means you'll have to design a room or house including furniture, and render it in a realistic way.
check out the evermotion website for inspiration, or browse the EnjoyCG forums.

If you don't feel experienced enough and need some help, try our Brand new Arch Viz video tutorial, thanks TE_!

Prizes

1st prize: 2 CD's of your choice from the entire Evermotion collection worth up to $130 (100 €) each.

Runner up
CD of your choice from the entire Evermotion collection worth up to $130 (100 €).

Evermotion CD's include tons of quality arch viz models, textures and materials useful for many commercial CG projects or personal use.

Rules
  • Stick to the theme, for example, exterior architecture of a building is not acceptable.
  • Late entries will be disqualified, so try to get your entry in on time!
  • Two or more final renders are required, but more is better. One should be the finished, textured and lit scene, the other render should be a (clay) wireframe.
  • The minimum resolution for the shortest side of your final render(s) should be at least 800 pixels, of course, more is better!
  • No pre made objects or models not made by you can be used.
  • Work In Progress renders are required, at least a few to proof that you made the scene yourself showing progress along the way.
  • It's compulsory to help other members who joined the competition by posting critique and ideas in their respective thread.
  • staff members are allowed to enter but cannot win any of the prizes.
Naming of your thread: prefix: Evermotion Competition, title: your username

Deadline

The Challenge starts Monday the 23rd of April (23-4-2007) and your final renders should be posted in the final entries thread by the 24th of May (24-5-2007) Midnight (gmt+1). This means you have exactly 1 month to complete the challenge, more than enough!

Good Luck!

Oooh...interesting. Think i might get in on this one. Never rendered a full scene like this but it sounds like a challange.

I've got uni pretty full on until the 8th of May but after that i should get some time for this.

I'll make a thread later.

[edit] Oh aye...does this scene have to be modelled in max? Can i model in a solid modeller and render in max? (just the way i like to work at the moment)

wow, congratulations on the first sponsorship and what a fantastic organisation to have as a sponsore? I am definately going to give this competition a try and I am most certaintly going do T.E. tutorials.

I had a quick look, hand they're really excellent, not seen anything so consumate on the web that teaches so much in one place about creating interior furniture and furnishings.

Runner up means second place, we couldn't get a third place prize because we only have one sponsor this time, but next time we plan on having atleast 2-3!
