| 1. Picken - what a tremendously detailed model! And I like the action pose. 2. Koiranos - another really detailed model. The fact that it's underlit sells it as an 80's toy more than anything else. 3. Fisher - good color schemes on the vehicles. The motion blur effect looks wonky though. |

| 1- Kronick goods:great idea (out of the box space scenes ) very special scene output and positions. not good: caustics arent good, and the wall tiles dont have any apparent pump map, some modelling faults appear in the right part of the image, at the window. 2- Koiranos goods: the special thing about your work is production look, very realistic. not good: the lighting isnt good, no shadows, and no idea in the scene, you dont anticipate anything to happen, always remeber, image with motion in it looks better. 3- DarthSjaak goods: this is a great scene, great modelling, very good depth of field and materials, magnificent motion feeling. so why didnt i choose you the first: actually the idea is so in the box , most of us thinks lego=space ships, or sometimes happy city. 2nd personally i think making a lego inside a realistic scene like the shower or on a desk is better than making it in a fantasy scene, (we arent making an advertisment to lego anyway )3rd: the sand material dosent look good, you should increase the pump material and increase its tiling. for the others its really a great work you have all done, i had hard time trying to choose these 3 works, i think the reall difference wasnt in artistic capablities (in which you are all more than good), it was in the idea, and the output, and some time the lighting. i wanted just to leave few comments for another magnificent works: Picken your work is great, if we were talking about just modelling contest you would defnitly have the first place, also your output and character pose is extraordinary, but this isnt lego , this is more like transformers lego, and itsnt a scene, itsnt telling me a story, its just a picture of a well made model. for those who made space ship scenes, great work, but again this is so in the box, you must have not just good work, you have to make an extraordinary work to get noticed if you use this idea . Gettin_started_modeling good work, if you are " gettin started "this would raise it to magnificent, the main withdraw in it is the lighting and the background, yes i know that earth is global but not that much, the horizon always looks straight or slightly slanted, not that much. hope i help with this humple-bit long- critiques, great work everyone. | Lovely work buddies.... Here's my opinion... 1. DarthSjaak 2. Koiranos 3. Fisher All the above models are very comparable in modeling, i.e. they justify the basic theme. But DarthSjaak wins on rendering and consequently, realism. Thanx. |
