Great work. Plastic shader could be a bit more reflective.

Thank you for the comments. I applied more of a chamfer on all the studs using one main stud as reference then using the Substitute modifier on all the rest - and I think this gives more reflective light and specular highlights! Here is the completed modeling and texturing... I'm taking tomorrow, and the next few days off work to get a complete scene done for final submission... here are my most recent updates:





EDIT: The studs on the 2nd pic here are before i did the extra chamfer... just wanted to show the "Viper" logo on the ship a little better!

So the reason for the color change - I wanted red, gray, and black for the bad-guy ship... and didn't want any color of that to be on the good guy one. I tried blue gray and black and that looked decent.. but i think red looks awesom-er! Plus the good guy ship has 2 colors, 1 neutral, bad guy ship has 2 neutrals, 1 color. and thats it - no more texturing, no more modeling LOL i've promised myself im going to move on from that! TIME IS A TICKIN'!!!!

ok here's a sample of the finished scene... or at least one of the earlier images i was using. sorry for such a large size... and sorry its plain and boring...but i promise it will look awesome in the end!!! WOOO!!!!!

Great planet (is it Mars?). You probably already thought of this, but maybe you can add a sun?

Kronick, i wanted the background to be really blurred and spread thin to give the whole dust cloud or nebula feel...

DarthSjaak, i dont think it's mars... actually, i think it's venus! i forget which map i used...yea pretty sure it's venus. thought about adding a sun... but i want to keep the angle that the light is hitting the planet... and if i put in a sun, the angles would be thrown off and i dont think the Lego ships would be in enough light to really see them... it's hard to explain... almost done though...

Final Submission

During the Great War of 4255, Viper forces captured two officers from the Fisher Federation. Intelligence confirmed the location of the Cruiser transporting the prisoners of war and the Federation quickly dispatched a fighter squadron to the rescue. Alerted to the attack through spies, the Viper transport ship was ready for the ambush. A highly sensitive area probe captured the counterattack just outside the orbit of the 5th planet in the system.

Will the Viper ship escape with the POW's to use for political bartering, or will the Fisher Federation rescue them and save the day?
