Modeling a detailed robe from splines

This tutorial covers the modeling process of a detailed and realistic robe.
You'll start out with some reference and create a few splines, then the model is converted to editable poly and you'll use paint deformation and a few other modifiers to add detail to the model.

This tutorial is in DIVX, you'll need DIVX player or a CODEC that supports divx, try playing this in windows media player first, if it doesn't work, get the codec.

Reference and final renders are attached.

Nice tut. I learned a lot. Question do you have to model the arms separately or is there a way to get it to work in 1 piece I tried but the Cross Section modifier messed up. Benn using this in my glasses model Thanks!

yeah.. its a timelapse video...
think of it as a visual summary...
if it was running at real-time
it would probably take like one and a half to two hours
to completely watch the whole video
plus the filesize would be way too big
and end up sucking alot of bandwidth from the servers
