sketching in photoshop

Hey, my name is Egil Paulsen. I am more of a 2Dartist, but I hope you will appreciate a little walktrough the way I sketch out a picture from scratch.

Note that in the background I use a stock photo for inspiration. I later took that away and painted a sky for the final image.

The final image is available on my website

enjoy

have made any tutorials on photomanipulations? If you havent, then make atleast one which covers blending bodyparts together like you did in your Deathangel piece...

wow, that's great, I wish I could squeeze more time into the day? I love wathing the speed video, reminded me of when I used to watch tv and see artists teach how to paint.

I canonly admire at the moment but I'm happy to know that 'one day' I'll paint and that there are resources like yours to help me get there

Nice work... also saw the rest of your digital paintings, very good

do you use a pen and tablet? or do you just use the mouse? for your paintings?

it's impossible to do those kind of drawings with just a mouse i think, i've got a crappy tablet myself and that's already a huge difference from a mouse, mainly because you can make more natural movements and the pen pressure determines the thickness of the brush.

Photoshor or Illustrator

I need to start drawing and painting, but do I use photoshop or illustrator? I can't decide. Why do so many people use photoshop when Illustrator is a drawing package with more features?
