Cloth basics

During this tutorial you'll learn how to use the new cloth modifier and garment maker to create a tent like structure and an animated flag (influenced by a wind force).
You'll also learn how to use volume select to delete parts of a mesh, it's purpose in this tutorial is to make some holes in the cloth so it looks old, finally the scene is rendered using mental ray and final gather.

size: 25mb length:14 min format: WMV, 640x480

The garment maker is a little "picky" on where it will show or not. If you open the modify panel for anything that is not "garmentable" the modifier wont show on the stack. As I read also from the docs, GM will work correctly only if the base object is facing up in the top viewport (it seems to use top view as reference for facing the cloth panels).

So, try this: go to the top viewport and draw a spline, in any shape you´d like. With this selected, open the modify panel and pull up the list of modifiers. If in this case the Garment Maker is not there, then you really got a missing installation.
