Red face 3DS Max Knows what time it is

I'm at college doing a 3d modelling and animation course. The tutors are great but I can say that you guys have been just as good. I was at a meeting where we discussed the universities use of its own online forum.

I told everyone that I was using this as I had receved more help from my very first forum, and its true, what is learning without practice and what is life without friends and associates alike.

It was a joint effort in getting there and there have been many valued lessons learned. Mainly slow down and think, then there is no magic icon to click on to make the work complete.

I've used other apps apart from 3ds max for building scenes and only ended up wanting more, suppose we all want fast food service when it comes to life. well this watch has been in the making for nearly a month, I made it because I saw a photo realistic watch which was shown as a model on my course and i criticised it for not being artistic.

I was arrogant to say the least, if not ignorant. had I known the effort it takes to make anything look simple and beautiful, i would have kept my mouth shut. lol

the only thing I am not happy about was that I had to use architectural shaders and that I did not make my own materials to create the surfaces I've used. I will go back and redo the watch with my own efforts.

But a big up to the crew, and you know who you are. your help has been greatly recieved and cherished. so here's the results of my tears, teeth grinding, swearing and almost some crying, and I hope you find it acceptable enough. 'I will improve' is my motto

it's really looking a lot better now! You've got decent light and the model is very well done too. The only thing that seems to be missing is some specularity or slight reflection, other than that it's really good!
(btw, post some larger renders as well, just use imageshack or something similar and then insert an image here!)

its looking good,

but the from the view the strap looks a little wonky and all the black blends in with each other, maybe do a clay render to show us all the details you have put into it.

and make the render bigger!!!! and change the anti aliasing settings, i hat e ablurry render.

anyway good work! waiting for the bigger render!
