Heres a 3ds max logo i made, its pretty simple but i thought it looked quite cool

pretty nice, but some of the renders (green,yellow,red) show some strange artefacts, what happened there? maybe FG settings?
A metal shaded version would look cool too.

Yes they are nice but as Jelmer said on the right of some its a strange color. Will you be tweaking anything like the material for metal? Also is that the material that comes on a shape when you first make it (no material I guess)?

yeah i was thinking that too, i'll check and see what i can do. And i think it will do a chrome one

there looks to be a mesh error on the end too, along the inside.

you do that... add a dark background to it aswell. it would make a killer desktop background

DAKLOL: Its not a mesh error its my crappy lighting set up its making weird bits go all over the model.
