hey everyone, my name is alex, im 15 and i just got into 3d, over a year ago, so I still consider myself a CG n00b lol....but ive always been interested in 3D and hope to see myself working on movies one day.

Ive been using photoshop for about 3 years, not long after that i started using Rhinoceros and did some basic 3D stuff, mostly furniture. Then about June last year was when i really got into 3D, i took a two week course in Maya (great program, but im more comfortable in max :P) which taught me the basics of modelling and rendering and just basically how these programs work.

I started using max about hmmm, around November last year after i came across a trial and then got myself a copy of Max 9. So yeah thats basically it i guess, ive just been doing tutorials and some short animations lately to try and boost my knowledge and get better using this program, i still suck at it :P but im learning.

Jelmer your castle tutorial is legendary , taught me so much about modelling (up to part 3 right now) looking forward to trying out some of the other tutorials, but theres just so many! lol

cheers,

Welcome to the community 3dnoob, i'm sure you'll have to adjust your username a bit after following all of the tutorials, at least that's what I hope , have fun and be sure to share some of your WIP if you have any!

hey guys

Sup guys, my name is Christophe but you can just call me Chris. I have just started using 3Ds Max like a few weeks ago but before using Max I used Maya. I was looking for some tutorials and I found your site with a lot of good tutorials, including the castle one, tried some and loved them. So then I thought I could register and ask for help ect... Then I looked around and saw amazing stuff, so I hope ill become as good as some of you soon .
I don't have anything to show you guys right now because I just started and don't really have a lot of work but ill be glad to when I have some things to show.
