Hi,

I'm Laurent ( aka Dravenfr ) , I'm from Dijon ( France ) and I'm 36 y.o

Sorry for my so bad English , I read English but when I have to write it's more difficult for me ... I hope you'll understand me ?

I practice 3D CG since some years , I start with 3ds max and now I use Cinema4D 10.5.

I discover this wonderful forum from bricks3D blog's ...

Yes I'm an really old child who love to play with C4D and Lego !!!

So I hope I'll find my place here and learn à lot of things with you !

Welcome Dravenfr,

We all still enjoy Lego I think, looking at the great results from the last competition! You're english is pretty good for a french guy, don't worry about it! If you have some 3d work you want to share with us post it in the finished work forum or 3d work in progress if you're still working on it or need help. Also, if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask them.

Hello! I've been looking for quite a while to find a CG site where people could help me improve. From glancing around, this looks like a great place.

My name is Jordan Harris. I am a brickfilmer - I make stop-motion animation films using lego bricks. Recently I have been integrating CG into my films. It is very helpful for backdrops, flying objects, etc. As I do not exactly have cash flowing out of my pockets, I've been using Blender, which, although tough to learn, has been a great experience for me. At the moment I'm struggling with finding a good, realistic material setting. If anyone has any help with that, please let me know.

I look forward to joining what looks like a great community.

Welcome Leonardo!

Stop frame animation using Lego sounds like a lot of fun and i bet it looks awesome! Would love to see some of your work if you have it online? You could post it as a thread in the 'Off Topic' section of the forum. Its always good to see CG being used in other areas and it would be great to see the results. We recently had a lego themed competition here and everyone loved it so im sure people would be interested to see your stuff.

I've never used Blender before so dont think i can advise you on anything there. Is it textures you are looking for or settings for the material editor? if you post your work in progress here im sure you will get all the help you need

THank you, SJH!

I'm sorry that I missed the Lego themed competition. I would have loved to enter.

About Blender - I will make sure to post a work in progress. Hopefully we can work out a realistic render. It's mainly materials - just getting something that isn't obviously CG.

Also - my browser froze and it looks like my post above was posted twice. Maybe a moderator could delete that.
