If you get it up and running here are a couple of tuts I wrote on texturing in blender. They're for older versions but they should translate into the latest one okay.

Hello all, I finally decided to register here. I've been lurking for a week or two, and figured I might as well drop by and say hello. Jelmer's tutorials have been a HUGE help to me so far, and I've only completed 2 of them. I've pretty much learned weeks worth of information just from those 2 (the Ipod Shuffle tutorial and the Cloth tutorial so far, Shaders/HDRI/mental ray and Terrain are next ). Anyway, I'm a sophomore in my university's Graphic Communications program (essentially a more technical and broader version of Graphic Design). So THANK YOU Jelmer, and I hope you don't mind if I set up camp here

Low res served well enough, I'll definitely check out the high res though... The avatar is a pic; source is here. 'Tis my namesake.

Nice maybe you should make a model of that sometime although car modeling is hard as far as I've heard. And my attemps come out looking like a piece of a rock that chipped of lol.
