$ $ $ $ $

I've gotten myself into a bit of a mess, Im involved with this Gov't sponsored program, I'm in it so that I may get a bit of money into the fam so I can feed little Timmy.
ANYWAY... being a Gov't program I need to jump through numerous hoops before the big bird will shit me out some coin.
I'm trying to start a small very small business, Im a CAD monkey, AutoCAD, with a bit of Max.
I need to provide 3 quotes regarding hourly rates of pay.
I have one quote of 60 p/h for a contract AutoCAD person, if anyone could point me toward a source of information regarding rates of pay that would be great.

I need to know what does a Concept Artist charge, man it's taken me over a week but I think she finally understands what computer graphics actually means now.

By the way my full report is due tuesday, so if anyone can help , then the sooner the better.
THANKS AGAIN

Meini

Well depending on his currency that might be about the same. Of course your rates will depend on your skill level and reputation, don't start out too high, but be careful not too go too low either because people won't trust you then either.

I was actually reading an article on this today in one of my old 3D World mags. Some guy from the UK was asking how much he should charge for his freelance 3D and Matte Painting work. The mag got a guy from the industry to answer his question and he said that £20-£25 per hour was about right for London (For Matte work) but he also mentioned that Matte Painting is undervalued in London and the UK. He belives that it is valued more in America. I guess this may also be true of concept work but like Jelmer said it really depends on your skill and previous work. Good luck with it though mate hope this helps ya

Well yes it does help me, thank you. I will print out this page and use it is a reference, it helps me but Im never too sure about these gov't people. They always want something really official looking.
I know this is asking alot but, if I had the issue and name of the 3d mag that you refer to SJH, and a scan of the article.
Yes yes yes I know it is asking way too much but I need to reference the source in an appendix and Im not giving them my password and anyway could you imagine them checking out the source page on Enjoy CG and seeing what Ive said about them.
Beer for everyone you just have to come to Canada.

As far as my skill level goes, well I'm pretty late out of the gate with this stuff, but it will come along.
Havent gotten things "real enough"
I'm sorry but what is "Matte work"? refer to.
As soon as I figure out how to upload a pic, I will post my results for the TE_ living room set up, then I will hope to get lots of feedback.
Thanks again,

Meini

OK I see here now, The Magazine is 3D World, so all I would need is the issue date and I can do all the rest.
Any chance of that PLease.
Thanks
