Yes sir, that's the kind of motivation I need!

Any chance there's a higher-res downloadable version of the showreels somewhere? Some of my friends and family still think I'm crazy for buying 3ds 9, and if I could show them these reels (without the loss of quality from being You Tube'd), they may be a bit more understanding.

you can download the Autodesk Showreels from here they don't and perhaps through no fault of their own understand how many movies that are out there are actually made with autodesk products.

To download right click the mouse button on the image for each show real and choose save link as then choose the directory to where you want to save it.

I the best stuff is too big to have been uploaded online but you can definitely download it. The problem is that its not that your folks don't believe your dreams they need to see results and they need to see that it has some educational value. Which is why everything you have seen so far is Motion Graphics, that's what you have to get into but to do that you have to also train to be a Graphics Illustrator which means as well as studying media you need to develop creative design skills as well.

DO YOUR RESEARCH so they know that you know your subject inside and out

Thanks for the link, geldslaw.

And yes, I'll be doing plenty of research as well. I've got big dreams that I hope will convert into actual plans in the near future, once I gain some skill and confidence in 3ds.
