Max - Disappearing Objects

Hi People!!

I've been using Max for quite a while now. Every now and then I encounter a typical problem and haven't found a fix to it. It's like, sometimes, splines, lights etc whatever new objects you create, disappear. They don't display in viewport. Even restarting Max or rebooting computer doesn't help. I'm pretty sure it's a file corruption problem, cause if you import this data to a new file, max starts to work fine again.

Also I've a pretty good system configuration, with dual xeon quad cores, 8 gb ram, fx1500 quadro, so i feel it isn't a system configuration problem.

Can anyone help me on this....

Thanx

don´t really know what the problem is but if you mean like render in viewport you got to check a box for showing at render (only splines and lines)

LOL what is it that you do with that config??? I am going to be very crestfallen if you tell me that you use it for home use. I am still using a dual athlon MP and a dual opty.
Must be nice to own a ferrari (us slow coaches, VW beetles, dont get to run too fast, but we get there )

Re: lecameleon

Hii Lecameleon!!
Some graphics card do cause viewport problems cause simply they are low on memory... And ya, I obviously don't use that configuration for home use... It's just the configuration of a workstation of mine which i use professionally...

I'm using MaxtremeD3D driver. It's specific for quadros. But the problem doesn't solve even if i use normal Direct3D. In OpenGL, viewports tend to run slower, so i don't prefer using them...

Hi People!!

I'd like to mention, what quick fix i use for this situation. Since, I know there are lot many people who encounter this problem. It's a simple fix. Save your render setting using "render presets". Start a new instance of max. Merge all the geometry from the corrupted file to this one... and load the saved "render preset".

I'm still searching for a permanent solution... So, good if someone knows how to fix it....

thanx

If the problem is not in the display driver it could just be some of the latest plugins you installed.
