Lost file

Hey guys, I really need some help with this

I was working on a castle this afternoon (one i've been working on for quite some time) and I saved, but now i want to open the file, and 3d max says the file doesn't exist anymore.

when i look in the explorer, i also see that the file size has dropped till almost nothing, from 5 MB to 4 KB or something.

Does anyone know a way to get this file back? If u do, PLEASE contact me!!!!

refer the aoutoback folder maybe it should be located in the max root directory (max 8) or in my documents (max 9)

yeah, autoback has saved me many, many times. It backs up automatically when max is running, you can set how often and how many files it backs up but the default settings should be fine, for max it should be 3ds max root/autoback, then try opening those files and see what you get.
