well its a true story lol, except it unfolded slightly differently, but thats basically what went down in real history at thermoplyae, i actually visited the place where the battle took place in greece, doesnt look at all like the movie lol.

I guess its kinda unrealistic but thats pretty much how it all happened, overall the greeks lost about 1000, and the persons over 70000, quite amazing. Their wall of shields was inpenetratable, and it was just an endless cycle of pushing and spear stabbing lol. Special effects were amazing though.

They fantacised the movie alot tho and made it really mythological, not sure if thats what you mean by unrealistic.

and also i ahve to add another movie to my list....disturbia, just saw it then, i loved it, one of hte best movies ive ever seen, kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

yeah i know about the battle of thermopylae, but here it was a bit exaggerated, not that it really matters... it's just that i prefer more realistic films most of the time, band of brothers is a good example!

yep i know exactly what you mean, lol band of brothers is pretty ridiculous, in the first encounter no one gets shot at all and they manage to take out like a whole 10 squads and blow up a bunch of AA guns, not possible.
And theres plenty of other battles where only ONE person dies, and offcourse after that one person dies they have to retreat

don't forget a lot of films fall int o escapism, there's nothing exciting about people dying in war, no sleep for days on end, everything that moves makes you jumpy, nerves on edge, no toilet breaks, no washing or eating or drinking at regulat intervals, no phone to calls to friends and family to tell them you're ok. In war many people died because they were killed by enemy fire, lots of soldiers suffer with nervous breakdowns and find it hard to fit back into normal society without being violent because who can help them, who can talk to them and understand what it is that they went through and the nightmares of what they seen drowning them everynight.

on that note, can;t wait till people have to look up the word war in a dictionary because they aint got a clue as to what its about. Now back to escapism, I just finished watching again Aliens 1- 4, the way those aliens drool scares me shiless, would never hope to meet a dog with an attitude like that.

Although Alien Vs Predator is also an awsome film, and stargate, I just love the cg models can't get enough lol

True as, there really isnt a inclusive definition to war.
Here are couple of really good war movies:
*Flags of our fathers
*Letters from Iwo Jima

Anyway, the alien PWNS everyones arse! You totally cannot argue that
i personally think, The Alien is the most ingenious extra-terrestrial monster ever conceived. gotta respect Giger for his creepy mind lol

Thanks for Tip Ozzieguy, watchted that already. Its awsome, relaxing show and characters were cool...

As I said Jelemer, only reason to recommend that movie to anyone is special effects and watch it if one lacks gym motivation.

Motammad, i think estetically, alien is cool(gave me also some heavy nightmares whn i was young).Last AlienvsPredator as Story goes made me just irritated. It could have been Alot better.Predator is one of my fav humanoid looking aliens, both predator 1 and 2 are by far my fav even over last movie...kick ass

Anyone watched Heroes and Carnivale? Now thats a show you gotta follow if you like science-fiction or just fiction for that matter

yeah, i agree. the AVP movie was rather awful... but the game is amazing...

this is what i recommend to everyone, seriously, play AVP2. its storyline is exciting and interesting, you´ll never get bored. and you can play the missions of all three sides: Aliens, Predators, and Marines... and i gotta tell you, playing the Marines ones are way scarier than any Doom3 or FEAR were.
Sorry for going a bit off topic.

PS. I heared that they´re making a new AVP movie... i wonder if its going to be any better...?

I wish I had Alien as a trained pet... that´d be far out!
Fetch the stick!!!

Lol, nice...I digged AvsP2 game,yeah...playing as marine is awful in a good way.One hates feeling like a prey all the time Its somewhat old by now standards but definitive fun and recommend to all as well...
Thats why Predator is best!
Hope they learned from previous mistakes...Effects and special effects they cant miss, only thing they have to work out is STORY...if you have link of official site, pass it

http://www.reelzchannel.com/moviedet...5&clipid=17191
AVP2 is now rated R... i hope it wont be R for Retarded lol

Sunshine eh? haven't seen it yet but it has a good rating on IMDB...
revive the Sun then... kind of a strange concept.
