| Hmm I'm not sure about the hardware support, I suppose the info should be available at nvidia, or the motherboard you're considering. Video shouldn't be a problem, since it's quite a high end card, I don't think it's related to sound at all, or do you mean you won't have enough space for a sound card slot with a large videocard?? I'm not sure about that, also depends on your motherboard and case size. I'm looking forward to hearing about the results if you decide to get that card, should be great with max. |

| Hi Jelmer Thanks for the reply I posted the same question on Gametrailers.com and was advised that the card shouldn't really have a problem with mainstream cpus (eg. Core2 etc not Xeon) as it's pretty much identical to the GeForce models only the firmware on the card is for raw ploys instead of gaming. Which means I can put it in a normal board with a PCI-E x16 slot. I was worried that the Quadro would exclude me from listening to muisc etc as I thought the card had to go in a "full workstation" setup (with Xeons and FB-Dimms) - which I just don't have the money for! but it seems that the cpu will take care of the media side of things and the quadro will just double-up as a 2nd cpu dedicated to polygonal rendering. So now i'm just gonna wait until a 32nm 8-core Nehalem to become afforable so I can pair it with the FX 3700 (this is my upgrade in 2yrs from now there's no way i'll be able to afford that setup when it comes out! lol) Thanks for the reply Last edited by NovaBomb; 12th September 2008 at 10:29 PM. |
