Wink Digital Arts Magazine October 2008

Design to survive the credit crunch, see who, where, when, how, why with, which and who to survive now and in the future of visual arts.

I can't emphasize enough how important regular reading or better still a subscription to this magazine actually is for those of you who seriously have an interest in Animation.

I subscribe to a number of magazines and each of them in their own right do a pretty good job focussing and covering the bases within their fields of expertise.

For an airtight grip and feel on what's happening in the visual arts industry as far as animation is concerned whether hand drawn, flash, aftereffects, toonboom etc whatever is being used in industry this magazine has it covered.

What I like is the indepth interviews and practical everyday common sense advice about when, where, why, how , who and with information that's given.

I got my issue yesterday through the post and I just felt I had a slight advantage with reading it and being prepared for what's currently happening and will happen to the industry. How to prepare myself to speak to people and better still who to speak to when I want to go looking for work.

There are so many other disciplines covering animation and they are doing quite well, it's obvious a lot of design studios are getting illustration, graphic design and animation work. They're doing whatever it takes to pay the bills and with the credit crunch it pays to invest in the best knowledge your money can buy you to stay abreast of the current situation and utilise your resources to ensure you're employable or have clients who need you.
