favourite meals and moments

I wanted to share another passion with you, FOOD, now that I have a laptop and spend more time in the kitchen than in my bedroom. I realise I can be more attentative to what I eat instead of just grabbing stuff and throwing it between two slices of bread with a can of soft drink to wash it down.

I've now got back to art form I love, I love painting he air with the fragrances of from herbs and spices, especially now that what I eat is often than not bought fresh on the way home.

tonight basically was a case of cooking fresh chicken strips in olive oil, onions, garlic, black pepper, peppers, coriander, white wine and some fresh cream, mixed in with some pasta and warm pitta bread, accompanied by several glasses of wine whilst the sun shone through the kitchen window.

It was or isone of those moments, I just had to share, no doubt when I start uni i'll be back to cheese and onion crisps sandwhiches as i panic about getting my work done for the following day lol

Hmm the pasta thing sounds good! Lately I've been working in a restaurant (not cooking though, unfortunately) but when I have time I talk and watch the cooks and I also get the food for free, so yeah, it's pretty inspiring even though I don't cook often.

I did about 8 years working in restaurants whilst I was a student, it's a great life, sometimes I miss it but certaintly it makes me appreciate cooking for a few instead of several hundred people at night.

thing is cos I live on my own I end up with too much food and no pointin freezing it, cos my freezer is filled already, lol and I should eat it the following day but unless its one of the dishes that gets better the more the food marinates I just end up throwing out for the pigeons. lol

I did buy some cooking chocolate and fairy cup cakes to make some of those rice crispy cakes, there wicked when you just want something sweet lol. come to think of it, I would've loved to work for a chinese restaurant.

one way to start working in the kitchen area is to start helping preparing the foods for the day but it means being there early in the mornings, then you can move on from there to learning how to prepare some of the basic starters.

what sort of restaurant is it

You cant beat a good Sunday lunch! For the people who have missed out on this fantastic meal its some kind of meat (Mainly Beef or Lamb) with vegtables and gravy. Or a good Steak with veg!

I'm more of a simple kinda guy... my mom's "Noodles, Hamberger Meat, and Ketchup".... haha

I've had my share of fancy restaurants, we were served all these kinda fancy dishes... funny story, they gave us these white balls of something, it had no scent at all, looked like White Chocolate, it had a design on it too...so I decided to take a bite of it, hmm, I was thinking, kinda oil-y, then I realized it was butter for our bread. Then I sorta spat it out into the clothe napkins, they had. I liked the clothed napkins thou, very different from the paper napkins found everywhere else.
I guess I should always ask what exactly it was, before I stuff it. hahahah

That thing almost looked like this, but had more of a sea shell texture, and more tasty looking... BLEH!! I'll never forget the taste of a spoonful of butter..
