3DsMax 2009 too slow(

I have a problem, with 3DsMax 2009 i tryed to install it but it seems to go too slowly, i have Intel Quad Q9300 2,5GHz, 4GB DDR2 800MHz, dual 8800GT and so) , and vista Home premium, any idea how to speed it up?)

How do you mean to slow? Is it on like 1 FPS ?

hmm, how to look on FPS in max? never knew that it is possible to show), its slow, models with i was doing on my P4 - 2Ghz are going better on the old machine like on the new(

Right click on any viewport and configuaration then statistics and select what you whant FPS, Poly count etc

When you have checked the things you whant check under Applocation Show Statistics in Active view and you´re done

thx, by a model which have 70,000 polys by rotating the camera it is only 10fps( hey, why so less, aaaaa(((

Hm 3D max is the only thing that runs slow on your computer?

I think i depends on the poly count i mean 70 000 polys that´s a lot...

yes sure, its alot, but anyway, i dont see much "speed up" from p4 to quad) so cause this i just asking) anyway, can it be cause the "great" vista??)

I would have to say the problem is either with vista or with compadability of your quadcore and max 2009, it should be running like a dream definatly not 10fps with 70k Sorry but i have no idea how to fix it, try looking on autodesk for help.

also do you have the 2009 service pack, somtimes they fix issues like slowing preformace
