| Just wondering - Networked Photoshop? Greetings, all. I've mostly just stood in the recesses and lurked here, but thought this question might be worth posting... Has any 3rd party application been developed yet that allows Photoshop to network-render? I've come across very large (greater than 2-GIG,non-tiff) files that cannot process or process at unprecedented SLOW speed that it makes it useless. ![]() |

| Re: Just wondering - Networked Photoshop? Hi mRvMan, Your problem may be rooted in the resolution of the files being used or your layered content within your photoshop file. As a rule of thumb you only need a ratio to produce printed or digital artwork. By this i mean if you are looking to create an A1 poster, your artwork need only be A4 at 300dpi. (i can go in-depth into this if anyone wants it, ie if you are producing work for a billboard or 48 sheet, let me know). Also, something that can make psd's enormous is the use of layer sets, effects and the amount of layers you have overall. It is essential that once you are happy with part of your project, start merging layers and save versions with flattened parts. you can see the difference straight away. if you can explain the problem a bit more perhaps we can get this solved? oh, also. there is version cue. this is part of CS that lets you manage, check in check out, artwork. it allows two people to work on the same psd etc. needs to be set up properly though as can cause problems on the server. hope this is of some help!? rob |
