Ragdoll: Need Some Help Making a Drive By/Car Hitting Ragdoll

Hello, Iv been experimenting with Ragdolls, and Bipeds. I want to have a Car hit a Biped/Ragdoll and have the person basicly get hit by it. Im sure its a simple way to do, but I cant for the life of me figure it out, no matter how many tutorials iv seen on Ragdolls, or Bipeds I cant figure it out.

All I want is a Car/Box to hit a Person who is crossing the Road (They would be Walking slowly) and have it hit them realisticly. Im sure that it has somehting to do with Reactor or Ragdolls, or both but iv been at this for days and can really use some help. Please

Well have you tried making anything yet? I think there's a standard rag doll rig provided with max, or it's in the tutorial files (there's also a tutorial on rag dolls with reactor I think).

First I would keyframe the walk cycle and animate that, then animate the car as well and just before the "crash" switch over to reactor to try the crash. The car should be a rigid body and if you set the object to a certain state it will follow the keyframed animation, not sure what it was called, have a look at the manual. Or maybe someone else knows, I haven't used reactor in a while.

Ok Iv made the car hitting a person, and it does get hit, although i cant seem to have the biped/ragdoll use the walk animation and then turn into a ragdoll. I ticked inactive so it stays still and then when it gets hit it turns into a ragdoll. I need to now try and find a way to include the walk animation (.bip) and then turn ragdoll. So far Iv done more than i did be4. the car hits the innactive ragdoll and then it goes flying. but yeah need to make it walk into the path of the car now.

Okay im an idiot, just realised under the reactor control you can state when you want the reactor animation to start. So I animate the man walking then when the car hits him Reactor starts (frame #) okay wow so i have my car hitting my biped. Now i just need to mess around with the settings to try and get the most realistic accident. (sounds morbid i know)

i cant get this to work in max i can gat an animation to work.......i can get the biped to react........cant get one after another lol

I reckon the answer lies somewhere within the motion panel transition area where you can set different transitions?????

as far as i got


lol its MUCH easier in endorphin
