hi

hi i came back with a concept and a little bit of modeling & sculpting update what i gonna creat is a shopkeeper in wild wild west and a cowboy character...... first i decided to creat the shopkeeper character ...kinda fat and short guy ...... ok below you can see the concept

then i created the head in 3d max [ me gonna creat the head and the body seperately ..ok ]

after that i unwrapped the uv's [ mmmm most annoying part for me ]

then i exported it in to zbrush and just began to form the head

i'll be back with some updates when i'm done ok seya soon & good luck

Real nice start on the head! Looking forward to seeing more detailing in ZBrush with it, it'll turn out great! As for the gun...if I had one suggestion, try to maximize your UV space as much as possible! (Fill the square, leave almost no empty space) You'll get way better quality in your textures! Maybe it's cause I come from a video games background, but when I see that much empty space on a UV sheet, I get a heart attack! Best of luck with the rest of the competition!

Hi

hi i'm back i began to model the body ....i made the body and the hands separately and then welded them together

ahhhhh another good point ......when you sculpt some thing and render it externally with a displacement map don't make the fingers containing 4 loops around it ....... you must exceed it and make more than 4 loops around the fingers [ see the pic below ] actually i've got an experience coz having made a finger contained 4 loops around it and i tried to render it with a displacement map....actually it gave me bad results that's why i highlighted this

so have a nice day

I like everything I have seen so far and it's really explained quite clearly as well, a lot of good tips were shared and I will look forward to using them in my own work

Nice update! Hands are looking good! I take it you're going to take the body into ZBrush as well...? I'm sure you'll work on making those joints (shoulders, hips, etc.) look more anatomically correct. Keep at it!
