What do you have planned for this scene? Do you have any sketches to be shown?

DAKLOL: I didn't create any sketches. Do I have to sketch it out or can I just show progress in 3D? I just started with creating it in 3D without sketches. My general idea is that a gunslinger has come to town... I am working around the idea of either using this as piece of the town or using this as most of my main setting... not sure at this point so far.

decosouza: I saw on CG Arena that there was a contest here and I have been contemplating joining for a few days. The start of this scene was a few days ago after I decided to play with the idea of joining.

I will have another update tonight.

Here is another update. Been going for quite a while on this today. There is some time left, but I hope to not get caught at the end without being done

Looks great so far, and no, a sketch is not necessary but is useful for people who don't know what you are planning. The scene looks very realistic, great lighting and texturing. Looking forward to more updates, good luck.

Thanks agrmrs, DAKLOL, and decosouza for your thoughts. I couldn't fall asleep... laid in bed for a hour then got back up... Will probably work on it a bit more tonight.

I am using Autodesk 3ds max 2010... still trying to get used to it. I am using Mental Ray for rendering.

I am kind of flying by the seat of my pants with this rendering... when I do renderings for fun (When I am not working... lol) I love letting them kind of develop organically and shape up... its fun for me to not have an exact plan
