EnjoyCg -Stephn - Duel in Ghost City

Hello everybody

here is my subscription for the Wild wild west contest - nice theme

attached some sketch of my idee

i think i go for the first one with a duel in a ghost town - i have to think to the camera viewshot again.

and some other idee i have in the second attach files: indian village, a couple in front of a saloon , or a cow boy goes to a ghost city...

i think i use a cartoon style

i use Blender and perhaps a little Zbrush - (hope there is no prob for that because i see that is a cg 3dmax community here)

Good luck to all

See u soon

Stephn

Sounds like a very cool concept I can't wait to see what its going to look like.

Using Blender and Zbrush is fine to use. Good luck.

hi

tks decosouza, characters coming

here is my evolution actually,

-more detail of the city, windows, doors,...a trying for the background cause finally i ll have a perspective view of the street i think

-and the beginning of the 3 characters - "thief", sherif, (and perhaps overtaker)
sketch, 3d sketch in Blender, speedly sculpting in ZB and back to Blender with a retopo of the ZB's sculpting (perhaps i modify again the head - before i would modelling the body and i see what after)

-modelling of weapons
photo, speedly realistic modelling, and "cartoonising" of them (Blender)

(color are approximative - its just to have an idee)

see u soon

nice update mate really nice ....the city is impressive there are pretty much details you've added there ........but have you used indirect lighting to light up the scene ? coz there are some glowing points on the ground due to the high intensity of lights....... if you turn on the GI there's no need to increase the intensity of the lights too much... the characters are really nice , simple but have a unique style .... i love those sketches too .... you are on your way to creat them nicely . superb modeling on guns mate really nice........ keep going good luck

edit :- actually don't know weather you are using those kinda words in blender or not... what i mean by GI [global illumination ] ok

hey

here is some tests for my lighting (before i hadnt yet place the lights on this scene) - I use an Ambiant occlusion in Blender (i suppose its like global illumination that u talk about it)

and the beginning of the bodies of the characters

nice work so far, and fast , I like the cartoony style you've got there, nice lighting too but a little more texture could be nice on the buildings. Don't forget to change the background, personally I would paint it in photoshop or model it to match the cartoony style, right now it detracts a lot from the overall image but you probably knew that already.

hey

tks Jelmer for the tip (doing working cartoon style for background) as u say i know there is a problem but before u said that, i hadnt solution ...so tks
i ll work on

here is a picture with texture (windows, doors and shutter i havent doing texture for the moment) perhaps its too much realistic - what do u thing about that? -
actually i have doing the 1/2 of the texture work on the buildings

(perhaps i ll do normal map and occlusion on?)
